Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.</p></div><h2>About the role</h2> <p>We're hiring our first dedicated international tax professional in Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore. You'll be a key member of Anthropic's tax team, reporting to our Head of International Tax Operations / Business Advisory and working closely with tax colleagues in Dublin and our San Francisco headquarters.</p> <p>As APAC Tax Lead, you'll own direct tax compliance and advisory across our Asia-Pacific entities and operations (Japan, Korea, India, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan) and help build tax infrastructure to support Anthropic's rapid international expansion.</p> <h2>Key responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Lead APAC direct tax compliance, working with external advisors (KPMG, PwC, Deloitte) to ensure timely and accurate filings across all jurisdictions</li> <li>Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transactions for APAC entities, including cost-plus arrangements and intercompany service agreements</li> <li>Manage withholding tax positions and treaty relief on cross-border flows, including customer receipts and vendor payments</li> <li>Advise on permanent establishment risks, entity structuring, and operational tax considerations as Anthropic expands APAC commercial and infrastructure activities</li> <li>Support the tax side of regional infrastructure expansion, including data center, colocation, and subsea cable arrangements and new entity formations</li> <li>Partner with indirect tax personnel on VAT/GST and consumption tax matters to align on tax strategy and overall compliance requirements</li> <li>Partner with Finance, Legal, and People teams on payroll taxes, equity compensation, and employee mobility matters</li> <li>Build relationships with local tax authorities and manage any inquiries or audits</li> <li>Contribute to global tax projects including public company readiness, SOX compliance, and tax technology implementations</li> <li>Working with indirect tax team on advisory and compliance and audit assistance</li> </ul> <h2>Minimum qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Strong technical knowledge of corporate tax in one or more major APAC jurisdictions and cross-border tax issues across the region</li> <li>Deep experience with transfer pricing documentation, intercompany agreements, and withholding tax and treaty analysis&l
