The team that is responsible for the ingestion of Twilio’s Web Console and API traffic, and its supporting services. As part of the Edge Platform organization, we provide building blocks for all Twilio customers and engineers alike, with high-availability and low-latency requirements, in order to effectively enable over billions of inbound requests every day. We take great pride in wearing customer’s shoes and making decisions inclusively. It is extremely important for us to build services with exceptionally high uptime, availability, and success rates.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <p>In this role, you’ll:</p> <ul> <li>Design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure for Twilio’s microservices.</li> <li>Operate and maintain highly available services handling billions of weekly requests.</li> <li>Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, ensuring operational best practices.</li> <li>Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and deployment.</li> <li>Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure uptime of services through on-call rotations and incident response.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams in agile ceremonies to drive technical excellence.</li> <li>Continuously improve cloud-based services, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalability.</li> <li>Research and improve the design and implementation of Twilio’s API infrastructure regularly.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Twilio values diverse experiences from all kinds of industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!</p> <p><strong>*Required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>2+ years of experience in cloud or DevOps engineering, with proficiency in one or more programming languages, preferably Python or Java.</li> <li>Experience in architecting AWS cloud-based solutions, leveraging AWS services such as CloudFront, Lambda, S3, etc.</li> <li>Experience in any infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform.</li> <li>Familiarity with building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Buildkite), optimizing deployments, and maintaining high reliability through SLOs.</li> <li>Exposure to SLO tracking tools such as Datadog, and log management solutions like AWS CloudWatch, Athena, Grafana.</li> <li>Previous exposure to service-oriented architectures, microservices, or REST APIs is highly preferred.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with making changes in production systems for cloud-native database solutions and data pipelines.</li> <li>Ability to collaborate effectively within an agile, fast-paced team, understanding the full software development
