Our goal is to democratize data &amp; intelligence, support Cloudflare’s critical business needs, and provide self-service data &amp; AI applications to fuel existing and new business critical initiatives.</p> <h4><strong>About the role</strong></h4> <p>We are looking for a Data Scientist Intern to join our Austin team to help us extract insights from our large datasets and drive business decisions. As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced data scientists and machine learning engineers to tackle real-world challenges in natural language processing (NLP) and AI development.</p> <p><strong>What you'll do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and deploy predictive models to drive business outcomes</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions</li> <li>Work with large datasets to extract insights and inform business decisions</li> <li>Work on data preprocessing/parsing strategies to make it LLM ready</li> <li>Rapidly test new frameworks such as AI agents, RAG, NL2SQL, etc in the Generative AI domain</li> <li>Support the evaluation and benchmarking of LLM performance across various tasks and metrics</li> <li>Continuously involved in knowledge sharing and mentorship</li> </ul> <p><strong>Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>B.S. or M.S in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative fields</li> <li>Experience working with programming languages such as Python, SQL or Javascript</li> <li>Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling and LLMs</li> <li>Excellent communication &amp; problem solving skills</li> <li>Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and work through ambiguous business requirements</li> <li>Ability to commit to a 12 week summer internship</li> <li>In office 3-5 days a week in Austin, TX</li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Points</strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or something similar</li> <li>Familiarity with container based deployments such as Docker &amp; Kubernetes</li> <li>Experience with JavaScript, Typescript, and React</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>What Makes Cloudflare Special?</strong></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We’re not just a highly ambitious, large-scale technology co
