Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.<br><br> <div>We are seeking an Engineering Manager&nbsp;to lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and scaling systems that power Robinhood’s global product expansion. You will own a critical product and engineering surface within the International organization, partnering closely with cross-functional leaders to deliver robust, scalable, and localized experiences for customers around the world.</div> <div><br>As part of the <strong>International Engineering</strong> team, you will play a key role in executing Robinhood’s global strategy by building reliable systems and driving high-quality technical execution in a fast-moving environment.</div> <div><br><strong>This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY offices, with in-person attendance expected 5 days per week.</strong><br><br>What You’ll Do</div> <ul> <li><strong>Lead a high-performing team:</strong> Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, setting a high bar for execution, ownership, and technical quality.</li> <li><strong>Own team execution:</strong> Drive delivery of complex projects end-to-end, ensuring clear prioritization, predictable execution, and high-quality outcomes.</li> <li><strong>Partner cross-functionally:</strong> Work closely with product, design, data, and partner engineering teams to translate business goals into actionable plans.</li> <li><strong>Contribute to technical direction:</strong> Guide system design and architecture decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.</li> <li><strong>Raise the engineering bar:</strong> Establish strong engineering practices across code quality, testing, observability, and operational excellence.</li> <li><strong>Hire and develop talent:</strong> Actively recruit and retain top engineers, and support their growth through coaching and performance management.</li> <li><strong>Operate with ownership:</strong> Identify gaps, resolve ambiguity, and drive initiatives forward with a strong sense of accountability.</li> </ul> <div><br>What You Bring</div> <ul> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> 6–9 years of software engineering experience, including 1+ years of experience managing engineers, with a track record of supporting performance and career development</li> <li><strong>Technical strength:</strong> Solid foundation in distributed systems and backend architecture; able to engage in technical discussions and guide design decisions.</li> <li><strong>Execution track record:</strong> Proven ability to deliver complex projects from inception to production with strong ownership and accountability.</li> <li><strong>Cross-functional collaboration:</strong> Experience working closely with product and design to ship customer-facing features.</li> <li><strong>Communication:</strong> Clear and structured communicator who can align stakeholders and drive decisions effectively.</li> </ul> <div><br>Leadership Expectations</div> <ul> <li>Build a strong, accountable, and collaborative team</li> <li>Set clear expectations and maintain a high performance bar</li> <li>Foster an inclusive environment with trust and psychological safety</li> <li>Navigate ambiguity with sound judgment and bias for action</li> </ul> </div> <div>What we offer<br>● Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career<br>&nbsp;● Performance driven compensation with multipliers
