QA Engineer (Manual)

We are building the first AI-native platform for automated product compliance in MedTech . REMATIQ turn hundreds of page of complex regulations (like MDR and FDA guidance) into structured, actionable requirements that plug directly into our customers’ development and quality processes. The result: life‑saving medical devices reach patients faster and safer. We work with some of the world’s leading life sciences and MedTech companies, including Philips, Siemens Healthineers, B. Braun, and Novartis. We are backed by exceptional investors, having recently closed a Series A round. We believe in the value of in-person collaboration and work in a hybrid setup, with the team coming together in our office in the heart of Berlin-Mitte typically four days per week . What you’ll do As a Manual QA Engineer at REMATIQ, you will own product quality across the edge cases automated tests don’t catch and the bugs that need to be driven through to resolution. You’ll work closely with Engineering to explore unusual documents, broken inputs, interrupted workflows, non-deterministic AI outputs, permission edge cases, and other failure modes that are difficult to anticipate upfront. This is a hands-on quality ownership role. You’ll combine exploratory testing with disciplined bug triage, making sure issues are reproducible, prioritised appropriately, fixed, verified, and genuinely closed. You’ll own two things: Explore edge cases beyond automated testing. Automated tests check what someone thought to check. You’ll explore unusual documents, broken inputs, half-finished workflows, non-deterministic AI outputs, permission corner cases, and other scenarios that may otherwise be missed. Own the bug backlog from report to resolution. Reproduce and document incoming issues, assess severity, prioritise with the Engineering Lead, track fixes, verify them, and keep the backlog accurate and actionable. What you’ll bring Strong manual QA experience on web products, including exploratory testing, test design, and regression planning Experience owning bug triage and backlog quality, not just reporting issues and moving on Exceptionally clear bug reports with reproducible steps, environment details, and expected vs. actual behaviour Enough technical fluency to investigate before escalating: browser dev tools, logs, network requests, APIs, and basic system behaviour Good judgement about risk and the confidence to say “this isn’t ready” when it matters Fluent English, our working language Nice to have: experience in regulated domains such as medical devices, pharma, or finance; ISTQB certification; German. Why this role is interesting Quality is central to the product. Thoroughness is part of the work, not an afterthought. You’ll work with AI-enabled software. That includes testing non-deterministic AI outputs alongside more traditional product behaviour. You’ll work closely with an AI-first engineering team and MedTech domain experts.
