We build powerful AI-powered product analytics while obsessing over clarity, simplicity, and delight. Engineers here own problems end to end. You can move across the stack to ship impact without being blocked by silos or heavy process. Product innovation drives our business, and product engineering teams own that responsibility.

The Product Engineering org is responsible for building our core product that delivers insights to customers. These teams are defining the next phase of our AI-led product experiences and are uniquely positioned to build the next generation of AI-first products. We build the tools product managers rely on to understand users, protect revenue, and scale companies. As we move toward IPO, our work evolves from showing what happened to explaining why. This shift unlocks deeper insight, better decisions, and the next generation of analytics.

We recently launched Heatmaps and Metric Trees, opening entirely new ways for customers to explore behavior and performance.

https://mixpanel.com/blog/mixpanel-heatmaps/

https://mixpanel.com/blog/mixpanel-metric-trees/

About the Role

The Product Platform team builds the foundation that every Mixpanel product experience runs on. Their work spans the core systems that power the entire company, from AppDB to the infrastructure and security layers that enable teams across engineering to ship quickly and reliably. This team shapes how product development happens at Mixpanel and unlocks the speed and scale required for the next phase of company growth. As Mixpanel evolves into a larger platform company, this group plays a central role in enabling innovation across every product surface and strengthening the technical foundation that supports our long-term trajectory.

Product teams operate as autonomous pods, with engineering, product, and design working side by side on clear strategic goals. Teams have direct access to customer feedback, product usage data, business metrics, and design context.

We start with customer problems. We reason from first principles. There are no project managers, QA teams, or separate SREs. Ownership stays with the people building the product.

We value written thinking, dashboards, and demos over slide decks. We work openly using tools like Slack, GitHub, Mixpanel, Notion, Figma, and Zoom.

Our team is distributed across North America, with strong clusters in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and Austin.

Responsibilities

Lead and build AI-first product experiences from inception to global scale.

Lead a product engineering team and grow its scope over time. Depending on level, this may mean hands-on technical leadership or empowering tech leads with clarity and trust.

Requirements

10+ years engineering experience; 4+ years leading engineering teams

Experience building and running real-world, customer-facing web applications.

Experience building and using AI-powered products in production environments.

Proven col
