Senior QA Engineer (all genders)

Your creative field We are looking for a full-time, permanent Senior QA Engineer (all genders) to start as soon as possible . We live remote-first within Germany, but you have the freedom to choose whether you want to work hybrid or completely on-site due to your proximity to one of our locations. Contabo serves 180,000+ customers worldwide across VPS, dedicated servers, object storage and a growing cloud-native platform. Quality isn't a bottleneck function here – it's embedded in how we build. You'll work across multiple development teams on products that vary significantly in architecture, maturity and risk profile. The scope is wide and the technical surface is real. QA here means jumping between contexts and figuring things out, not just executing scripts against a stable codebase. You come in before development starts: read the requirements, flag what's untestable and push back early. You own the test strategy and update it as things change – not as a document exercise, but because the products actually change. You write test plans and test cases, run manual tests (functional, regression, exploratory, UAT) and build and maintain automated tests across UI, API and integration. We use AI tools actively: in development, in testing, in how we work day to day and we expect the same from you. That's not a trend we're chasing: it's how we stay fast without cutting corners on quality. You keep the continuous testing pipelines running and help the teams use them. When bugs come up, you write bug reports that developers can actually work with – reproduction steps, impact, everything needed to close it without a follow-up ping. Regular regression cycles after major releases are part of the job, as is running UAT with product stakeholders. What convinces us Your personality, paired with: 5+ years in software testing/QA, ideally in agile teams Test automation in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; hands-on with frameworks like Playwright, Frisby, or Supertest Experience using AI-assisted tools in development or testing (AI code generators, LLM-based test support or similar) and comfortable using Claude (or comparable LLMs) as part of your daily workflow Solid grasp of test design, QA processes, and translating requirements into test plans and test cases API testing (REST), Git, bug tracking, browser DevTools – these are daily tools for you Comfortable prioritizing across multiple test streams simultaneously Fluent English skills and German language skills would be a plus Experience with AI-assisted tools in testing or development UAT facilitation, QA process ownership, performance/integration testing We know that you may not currently meet all the requirements. But if you come to us with the right amount of commitment and enthusiasm, we can take off together and make a big difference. Awesome Prospects At Contabo, we are constantly evolving. Our growth creates space for new ideas, ownership, and real impact for people who want to make a difference. What de
