This is a high-growth area for Lyft with meaningful impact potential.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></div> <ul> <li>Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code</li> <li>Have the ability to explain the various trade offs made in decisions</li> <li>Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge</li> <li>Implement tasks with good quality code leading to positive execution</li> <li>Participate in resolving ongoing incidents</li> <li>Unblock, support, effectively communicate, and obtain buy-in within your team to achieve results</li> </ul> <div><br><strong>Experience:</strong></div> <ul> <li>5+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of designing and shipping production systems at scale</li> <li>Strong system design instincts — you can reason through distributed systems trade-offs, identify failure modes, and choose the right architecture for the problem</li> <li>Practical experience with AI development to improve product experiences</li> <li>Hands-on experience with large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure)</li> <li>Proficiency in object-oriented programming; experience with the languages and frameworks used in our stack is a plus</li> <li>Solid foundations in relational and NoSQL databases — data modeling, query optimization, and operational considerations</li> <li>Experience in finance including expensing or travel platforms is a strong plus</li> <li>Fin Tech expe
