We are expanding rapidly as a platform for Digital Operations Management using AI/ML and Automation and growing our adoption by Development, IT, Customer Service, Security, and other teams across the organization.</p></div><p>PagerDuty is seeking a <strong>Full-Stack Software Engineer</strong> to join our diverse and customer-focused team!</p> <p>You'll be working on our authentication and authorization platform, a core part of our business that helps organizations securely access and govern the usage of their data within PagerDuty. You'll work across the full stack, including Rails and React, while helping pioneer agentic development practices that treat AI as a first-class engineering partner.</p> <p><strong>Why we need you</strong></p> <p>The Authentication and Authorization Team is looking for a passionate software engineer to help build the future security platform for the Operations Cloud. You'll help realize our long-term vision for an innovative, flexible, and extensible identity platform, building the AI-native foundations of highly available services, scalable databases, and secure APIs that underpin both our own users and the growing set of AI and agentic products that rely on PagerDuty for secure access. You'll have plenty of opportunities to partner with product and design on shaping new features for our customers, and you'll help promote engineering excellence across our design, development, test, and release cycles.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>From day one, you'll be designing, coding, testing and shipping backend applications and microservices, APIs, and front-end interfaces that ensure we deliver secure, highly reliable and scalable solutions to our customers.</li> <li>Since we own and operate what we build, you'll collaborate closely with engineers across teams.</li> <li>With 20,000+ global customers and growing, you'll be solving really interesting technical challenges while helping to scale our product to keep up with demand.</li> <li>Participating in your team's on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues as they arise.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 4 years of experience designing, building, and operating large systems with scalability, availability, and performance requirements.</li> <li>Development experience building and operating customer-facing, web-based products.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience with Ruby, React, and AI coding tools.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>You have operational experience in cloud technologies such as AWS</li> <li>You have experience with languages such as Elixir or Java</li> <li>You have operational experience with databases & tools (e.g. MySQL, Aurora, Kafka, NoSQL, applying software engineering principles to data problems, etc.)</li> <li>Experience building user-facing public APIs</li> <li>You've had experience designing & implementing distributed and highly available systems</li> <li>Exposure to or interest in authentication/authorization concepts (e.g. OAuth, SSO, RBAC/ReBAC) a plus</li> </ul> <p> <strong>The base salary range for this position</strong> is 113,000 - 190,300 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.</p> <p>Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position.
