You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Growth, Data Science, and Marketing leadership to set strategy, evaluate growth bets, guide pricing and packaging decisions, and build the financial rigor that allows the business to scale. You will translate product usage, customer behavior, unit economics, and market signals into decisions on what we build, how we launch, how we monetize, and where we invest. You will help define the growth model for a frontier AI product while working at the intersection of strategy, finance, and technology. This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees. In this role, you will: Serve as a strategic finance partner to ChatGPT Business product teams, helping shape product strategy, growth priorities, pricing decisions, and investment tradeoffs. Own the forecast for ChatGPT Business self-serve, including revenue, usage, margin, unit economics, leading indicators, and the operating metrics that show where the product is gaining or losing traction. Partner with Product, Engineering, Growth, Data Science, and Marketing leaders on product-led growth initiatives, pricing and packaging decisions, experiments, channel strategy, and new product launches. Translate product usage, customer behavior, funnel dynamics, and financial data into clear recommendations that influence both long-term strategy and day-to-day product decisions. Build planning and performance systems that help the team move faster, including forecast methodology, KPI architecture, decision frameworks, executive narratives, and repeatable reporting. Stay up to date on AI, SaaS, product-led growth, pricing, and competitive dynamics to inform where OpenAI should invest and how the business model should evolve. Prepare and deliver high-quality executive and Board materials that connect business performance, product strategy, key risks, and strategic recommendations. You might thrive in this role if you have: 8+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, strategic finance, product finance, growth finance, or buy-side investing, coupled with operating experience at a fast-paced, scaling technology company. Experience supporting product teams on growth, pricing, packaging, monetization, or product strategy decisions, ideally in product-led growth, growth-stage SaaS, consumer/subscription products, or consumption-based business models. Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills, including building product P&Ls, operating models, cohort and funnel analyses, pricing models, and unit economics that connect strategy to growth decisions. Strong business judgment and product instincts, with the ability to evaluate opportunities, tradeoffs, and risks in a fast-moving product environment. The ability to translate complex product, usage, customer, and financial data into clear recommendations for Product teams and senior leadership. High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, paired with comfort making decisions when data is imperfect and the business is evolving. Familiarity with product-led growth, growth experimentation, pricing and packaging, consumption-based pricing, or usage-based business models, and curiosity about how AI products change those playbooks. A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality and comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment. Enthusiasm for AI deployment, OpenAI’s mission, and the opportunity to shape how businesses adopt frontier AI. Experience with SQL and comfort working directly with product analytics datasets.
